Hitman was my game of the year last year, great fun with massive replayability.

There's a new 'Patient Zero' campaign plus other new content with GOTY edition.

Hitman is a brilliant game that I think a lot of people missed - possibly due to episodic releases, but there is a lot of fun to be had here. This seems to have sneaked out, I guess what they gained with their independence they lost in publishing power. Although, now that IO are free of Square Enix, they are independent and free to use the finest tools to hunt the greatest game.



 
LOVE this game, loved every bit of it right until the end, still dive into it here and there.

However, there are 2 huge issues, one in game and one with the game I feel new comers should know.

1) In game, regardless of where you are in the world, everyone has an American accent, breaks immersion if that's something you rely upon.

2) The above isn't a new campaign, it's new missions in the same areas as the normal campaign. If you don't like repeatable content (which it really isn't, just a 'level' used in a different way then you might be bugged by that.

Other than the 2 above, I give it a solid 9/10.
 
I hated every environment having american voice actors, thats the only reason I haven't finished it.

nothing better than getting immersed in an italian villa setting then having a spam going 'hey dude hows it goin'
 
After some advice guys!

I see hitman has been patched for XB1X so may jump on now. I am wondering if I should just buy year 1 as it's like £18 whereas this rerelease is £45 digital only?

I'd imagine I would get plenty out of the original version making it good value at that price or is it silly to buy that when there is a better bundle now?

I believe you can upgrade to the GOTY for a fee, so maybe go with year 1 and see how it goes
 
Just started playing this as it’s on Game pass now. Really enjoying it even if I’m crap at it my stealth leaves a lot to be desired, As does my innocent kill level...

Really good game....
 
I bought Hitman when it first came out in episodic format, plus the first three episodes. Given that they have now stopped selling it in parts, what do I need to buy in order to have the complete game?

Sorry for necro posting in here! Just wondered if any of you guys still play Hitman/Hitman2 ?

I bought Hitam GOTY a while back in a Steam sale and only recently got into it. I cant believe it took me so long to give it a go! :o I've just finished the main campaign and am now going back to do some challenges and escalations now, it's pretty cool how there's so much replayability in the maps.

I'm quite tempted to buy Hitman 2 now, but not sure if I should wait until all episodes are released?
 
If you like the first one, stop playing now and get Hitman 2 because you can play through all the same levels again in that one to get the unlocks as they don’t carry over. Hitman 2 has all its maps already, there are maybe a couple more to come as DLC.
 
Is hitman 2 episodes also? I see there’s a standard,silver and gold edition starting from £13+
 
No, Hitman 2 had 6 or 7 maps available at launch. From what I can gather, there’s one map coming for silver edition and a further map for gold edition. No word on when though.
 
I was looking at 2 earlier on today as I’m almost through 1 but if you can play through the same levels it could be a good buy at that price, like sneaking about killing people when I’m bored :D

Yes it is a great stealth game. Massive replayability too, so many different ways and means.
 
Don’t think it’ll ever get old, and having 2 will just mean more missions to go through, is anyone playing it?

Thanks for that! I did actually download a demo of Hitman 2 recently and that's what got me into it after I realised all the maps from the original game were playable in the new engine. Interesting that they weren't episodes in Hitman 2, I might have to buy that soon

Are you able to download the demo for Hitman 2? That's what I did and it let me play all the original maps from Hitman 1 without buying 2. I think the first map in Hitman 2 is playable too

Yea for sure! I've been chipping away at the first escalation in the training map ship level. Finally managed to kill Terry and the security guard and get the silent assassin rating! Took a lot of attempts though tbh :p
