Hitting 4.7... ish.

So it seems I got a reasonable chip.

Now at 4.7GHz on air, with 1.26v and everything is hunkydory.

Except for the fact that every time I take a CPU-Z validation the flaming bus speed is 99.98MHz, not 100- so I'm only getting 4698.9MHz on the dump.

It's only a petty annoyance, admittedly, but does anyone know of a way to stop this?

ive heard disabling cpu spread spectrum might help with bclk? not sure though never tested

could just be the nature of the chip,all mine are around 100.30

It'll almost certainly be down to the torelance of the quartz clock on the motherboard (or within the CPU itself). This can be affected by manufacturing accuracy and temperature.

Just like a digital watch/clock can run slightly fast or slow, so can your motherboard/cpu.

Hmm.
I have a Gigabyte Z87-UD4H, which is not a budget board, so I'd have thought it would have a decent clock on it...

As I say, doesn't really matter. But be nice to see 4.7, not 4.698!

think it's a general thing, mine shows 98 too at times.

mine also shows 100 but the clockspeed is 3899.1

go figure

does it let you set 100.07 bclk? cant remember if it only adjusts in .5 increments

Nah, set it at 100.05. Running 0.03 over target speed now!
Still, happy with that. More is better.

Update- 4.8 is doable, but not in this weather!

Wound back down to a more sensible 4.3 until we get a bit cooler...
