Hi all, Ive over clocked my e4300 to 2.9Ghz Using 320fsb 9 multi and stock volts. It is orthos stable but hits a wopping 70 degrees !!!! :O Im using a scythe infinity cooler and ive got the fan on it and a zalman fan on the back of the case 2 cm feom the back of the hs and the psu above it so i dont think its an airflow problem. I did however notice that when i applied the thermal gunk to the cpu not much got on the middle of the hs. Have i got a warpped hsf plate or cpu and how can i check ?

if you take the hsf off, lay a ruler or straight object across it and see if the surfaces meet, if there is a gap in the middle then it is warped. do this with the cpu too.

What voltage are you using? And also what are you using to measure temps?

4300s have thermal paste rather than solder between core and IHS. Could just run hot. You could - at your own fairly high risk - remove the IHS. Then you've got to mess about with your socket and your cooler etc.
