Spooky!

But yeah, had this since we moved in 2.5 years ago and no issues, this week its changed its settings from 5d2d to 7d and even though there is nothing within those schedules to switch on the heating it has switched the heating on out of schedule IE when its not suppose to be on.

This has got me nervous as we have a young child and I dont want it coming on in the night. We use it standalone so its not hooked up to the internet, no apps.

Anyone else had a similar experience IE is it on its way out? Batteries are fine. No amount og googling reveals anyone else with the exact same issue.

Thanks

Frost protection set too high?

Thats a possibility I'll have a look and see if it can be set, IIRC its a default setting at 7C that cant be changed but I'll double check

Could someone nearby have a hive and be programming it, or is the system bespoke to each unit?
RF interference?

Its not hooked up to the router, the hub is not connected at all so only way to program it is thermostat itself and they come in pairs so for example if I lose the hub but I have the thermostat I'll need to buy both. RF Interference stops it working all together because I had issues with a bluetooth Sub a while back fighting for the same channel.

Thanks for the suggestions, its really weird and starting to think its just going faulty, will keep an eye on it and will have to manually switch it off everynight

You say its being used in standalone mode, if it was connected to internet i would say hive sent a firmware update with a glitch, but if no net connection maybe a bug in the original firmware it was installed with - maybe firmware isnt 100% bug proof since they would have assumed it would be net connected and be able to patch bugs after launch?

Ps. you can update to hive 2 stat for £99 if its out of warranty - much easier to programme and use manually the hive 2 vs 1

pps. also if you have BG homecare, ideally with no callout fee, you could call them out, if they agree your controls are faulty you can get a whole new hive 2 kit installed, hive 2 stat, new receiver, new hub for £150 - wont be hard to get them to say its faulty cos they get rewarded for installing hives

If you dont have homecare or have an excess on the homecare you can buy the kit as self install etc for 150-180

I used to, not anymore use a different one. Wonder if I can use the one I currently have.

I'll give it a week and see how it is, if it keeps doing it (its changed settings twice now and switched heating on out of schedule once) then I'll check my cover and if they refuse I'll have to buy a new one :(

buy a nest instead - a lot better. gets regular firmware updates and I wouldn't use CH without it. it's amazing
