I have recently got this installed. My boiler is single zoned and i do not plan to change the hardware. I would like to use another thermostat to be able to control the temperature in the room amd turm the heating off using hive.

Hive sales are not very helpful and i am sure with all these smart devices this kind of setup should be possible.

My main thermostat will be used to control hive system. I am still waiting for echo dot to arrive, 3rd gen. Can anyone tell me how to add additional thermostat to monitor a separate room and control heating on and off without changing boiler and plumbing.

I just saw a thread now on smart TRV. This is new to me so not sure what i would need and how it would work with hive. Which app would be the main control that bridges them together. Has anyone done this?
 
I have standard trv which are numbered from 0 to 5 but the issue i have is sometimes when set to 3 it is not enough or when set to 5 it becomes too much. All depending on how long and how hugh the heating and thermostat is running.

My goal is to be able to set the temp and turn off main thermostat once it reaches desired temp in room. Not just the single radiator. Is this possible to do with tado smart TRV
 
There's something not right, the 0 - 5 represents the on/off temperature - if you look up the manual for your TRV it'll tell you the corresponding temperatures, eg 3 might be 18degC.

LOL set it to 4 :)

At the moment hive doesn't have TRVs but may bring them out at some point
 
I can set it to the number desired but what i want to do is be able to turn boiler heating off.

In hive app i cann see something like "turn smart plug off if room temp is x degrees". If hive and tado can connect to amazon echo. Is it possible to do something similair on echo?

"Turn hive off if tado reaches x degrees"
 
You would need dual zone heating system (which you say you won't do) and the required controller for Hive.

Hive does not currently control other.non-hive heating products.

As far as I'm aware Hive can receive a command to control the heating but does not have 2-way communication beyond hive acknowledging receipt of a command therefore Alexa would not actively know your heating temp in order to command Tado.

This confused me. If you want the heating to turn off when one specific room reaches a certain temp then why not just move the hive thermostat into that room. They're battery operated and wireless...

You might have to explain better exactly what your trying to do but you may be able to just balance the rads better and change to temp setting on the stat to get the result you want or move the stat into that room if your mainly worried about the 1 room etc
