HL2 and low end pc

If it helps I've played it on an Athlon 1.2ghz, 32mb Geforce 2 with 512mb of SDRam at 800x600 although I think that was low detail. I'd suggest at least another 256mb of Ram, if not 512mb or more though as it is a cheap upgrade and will help in all areas, not just games.

Bumping your RAM up to 512MB will make a HUGE difference and costs you less than £20. Apart from that it will play HL2 at a medium setting ok I should think.

Will a Celeron 2.6ghz (775 i think) with 256mb ram and a geforce 6200 128mb (agp) Play Half Life 2 ok??

thanks

Hmm perhaps, but it'll have to be pretty low details. My GeForce 6800LE was a bit poor playing HL2, but I guess this was when there wasn't any decent engine updates for the game when I had the card.

Upping the RAM would be a great benefit, I have another system at home, it's a AthlonXP 1700+ with 256MB RAM and it lags badly with WindowsXP installed, literally unresponsive... so getting at least 1/2 gigabyte of RAM would aid performance.
