Has anyone played this mod yet?

I started last night and other than the lack of players and servers its really good fun.

Its set in the American civil war so its using the old flint rifles and pistols, that means youve got to be a lot better at your shooting and reloading, no more firing hundreds of rounds to hit a person.

Id suggest that people give it a try as it is good fun if you can get a few people together on a map.

The HL2 version is currently at 1.0b

Do you actually need HL2 or can you get away with using the source SDK like you can with Insurgency

It looks like you need both HL2 and HL2DM in order to run it.

It's set during the "American War Of Independence"

Used to play this a lot but it seems to be dying now which is a shame as it was a great game.

the gfx for the HL2 version arent great, the mapping leaves a lot to be desired but it is very good fun.

yeah you can. It runs as a seperate client just uses the DM engine to power it. That was it saves you downloading and installing what is ensentially the same game twice.

It will install a seperate icon on your desktop and also in steam.

I used to play the original HL version and the early Beta's of the HL2 version.
Its a great laugh, especially the line battles. You really have to time your shots to make sure you don't get caught in the middle of reloading your musket.

I must download the latest version and get my bayonet bloodied again.
