HL2 EP2 but I cant remember EP1

Cant wait for EP2 but can some-one refresh me on the story-line in EP1? Its been so long since I played it I cant remember what happened in it. Ive just watched the ending on you-tube and it didnt make much sense. Help! :confused:

vortigons rescue you from the top of the tower as it explodes (end of HL2)

you have to slow down the reactor to give you time to escape...you fight your way through the streets to a train station..you make good your escape...a message goes out to somewhere then the tower goes critical and BOOM!

You have to delay the citidels reactor in order to help more civilians escape the city, then right at the end you're on the train as the reactor explodes.

Then there is small clip at the end with Alyx.

You also see Dr Mossman in a small cideo clip where she's in some Arctic base or something.

not even hours, a friend (shes sexy) came over and wanted me to show her hl2 ep1 because her pc is a bit duff, so i showed her, it was on hard mode and we completed it in just under 50 mins

... it's been sat on my pc since release, I ran through it on Sunday which is good timing because EP2 has arrived.
