HL2 Eps2 question (maybe spoilers)

Right, I didn't want to add to the official thread because I feared seeing spoilers.

I've reached the bit where you're at a bridge and have to get into yet another flamin car (hated hl2 car bits) but haven't a clue where to go? The road ahead of me has the bridge torn in two. I tried driving off it to the ground below but died.

I can't reverse because theres a huge amount of rubble behind the car as you get into it. So where do I go from here? I missed the comments from Alyx and the pleb as I approached the car bit because me phone went off

use the grav gun to knock all the cars off and the bridge will tilt and then u can drive off and survive

Fortunately the car seems much easier to handle than the one in HL2, i assume they tweaked it a bit since it was awful originally.

I thought that car was a lot harder to handle than the one in HL2.
