Took me about 8hrs of actual gaming time; I wasn't slow, I just played through it normally. It's not a wankfest for hardcore, uberfast gaming unfortunately.

Lighting and Shadow updates have been implemented for the new release. Although its nothing on Stalkers lighting its still extremely sexual. I can only hope they implement the final version of the Source Engine's technology into earlier releases of the game.

I got at least twice as much time out of the game than that first time I played it and am getting even more second time around. There's so many subtleties and little nuggets of detail that I missed first time around. Great set pieces too - from reviews everyone seems to hate the underground area except me - that vortal combat against all the antlions at the gates with the lights - I thought the music and the atmosphere all came together really well there.

I liked that part as well, played it with the lights low, 5.1 sound on high and I was really enjoying it.

Took me about an hour to play through as much as I could stand Same with EP1 really. I guess I just don't feel that they're different enough to HL2 to be bothered with them.

Complete Ep2 and love it, and pray Valve get the concluding Ep3 out a dam site quicker than Ep2

Then play Portal, laugh your ass off and play the best puzzle/fps/science fiction game combo ever

Then watch your free time vanish as you play TF2 online for the rest of your life!
