Hmmm, unsure what to do!

Ok, I think I will go with OCUK's 8800 GTS 320MB card.

I am trying to decide though, I am ordering on thursday, and frankly want the card for the weeekend. I am getting SICK of this 6200 128MB Turbo Cache. I want to see my machine play a game. Seeing my machine run at 10 FPS when there is smoke in Counter strike 1.6 is driving me insane.

So, that is the card. I will order about mid-day (noon) on thursday, is it worth paying for the 18 pounds saturday delivery so that I can be sure that I get it for the weekend? I am not sure if I should go for the saturday delivery, or the standard 8 quid friday delivery. I really want the card by saturday at the latest.

If I pay for saturday delivery it says "next day, saturday delivery" does that mean they will try to delivery it next day for friday if possible, but if not it will be saturday, or does that mean they will only attempt to deliver it on the saturday?

yep i would rather suffer than pay 18 quid del thats rip off.this is one of main reasons i dont buy more of oc cause delivery is pretty dear compared to a lot of others sorry but true.

Truthfully, I dont think it is that expensive. I just had a look at a few rivals websites, and they cost the same roughly to deliver a GPU. Besides I know OCUK, and always buy my bits from here. So I trust they won't try to rip me off with bad service.

I really am not sure if I should pay for the saturday delivery though, because if I do, it will nuke any chance I have to get it on friday?

So does anyone know about the delivery thing? if I do a next day saturday delivery, does that mean they will try for friday, or it will appear on saturday (if I order thursday) or is it as I suspect, and they will deliver it saturday only?

If you order it early on Thursday you will probably get in on Friday. I think pretty much 99% of the time I have ordered, I get it the next day if I order early on in the day.

If I were you i'd place my order over the phone, that way you can ask how busy they are and if they should be able to get it out to you that day.

I've placed an order before and it's taken 2 days to get shipped.

If the parcel doesn't arrive on friday just ring OCUK and ask them to upgrade to a saturday delivery. A friend did it a few weeks ago and got it on the saturday, apparenlty if you want next day you need to order before 4pm so bust order as early as possible.

What do I do then, just call their sales hotline? ( Sales - UK 0870 443 0880 ) and give my card number/address/tell them what item I want?

they attuly ask you a date of delevery when ordering and as long as its in stock its guranteed for that date hope this helps

That's possible? Hmmm, if I dont get it by friday around 4PM or so, I suppose I could call OCUK and ask them if it is possible for them to nudge a saturday delivery my way

Yeah, just ring sales. Wish i'd did this, I thought by specifying the date it would reach me by then, but clearly they were very busy.

If you get the sales person to tell you how busy they are, you should have a good idea if your order will ship in time to make delivery on your preferred day. Ordering on the site is a bit of a lottery.

Yeah, I had that trouble when I ordered my CPU/motherboard and stuff a few weeks ago. I guess vista is making them work like busy little bee's

Still, I prefer to order from OCUK than anyone else really. Its tradition for me to buy from them, my past few systems have been from them, and never had any troubles.

I will call them, and see what they say on Thursday I think. Incidently, are they hard to get thru to on the sales hotline?

Yeh its fine now I think it was the drivers just uninstalled them and used driver cleaner and its been fine since.

Not at all, never had to wait more than a few seconds to get connected.

I always order from OcUK as I like my after-sales service to actually exist!

It's amazing how many companies muck you around over the smallest things.

Well hopefully things will go well tommorw when I call then, and they will tell me "yep! you will have your shiny new 8800 GTS on friday!".

It is literally heart rendering, that 2 systems ago, when I was running a Barton @ 3200 speeds, and a 9800 Pro was stamping on this machines gaming performance.

My conroe wants to break free and enjoy the power of the 8800 GTS damn it

Seriously though, will be crossing my fingers
