Well i need a new case for my new build in doing this week.... Cant decide between the two:

Lian-Li PC V1000 PLUS Silver Aluminium Midi-Tower
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Lian_Li_Cases.html

or

CoolerMaster Stacker 830 RC-830 - Silver Trim
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Coolermaster_Cases_126.html

I know there are some expected delivery issues with the Stacker 830, but it looks sweet.... but then the V100 + also looks sweet

Does anyone know of a date for the Stacker ?
If its not any time soon i'll have to go with the V1000+ anyway ?

Any other Case suggestions or other known issues with these cases...

v1000+

Have replied in the other thread aswell, take a look at the www.yewen.co.uk user review for some pics I have of my rig.

I have used most of the high end cases, and the V series is one league above high end in terms of quality.

Raikiri said it perfectly.

V1000+ - the case needs no justification.

Although there are countless good pionts about the V1000, I have to stress that at the cooling factor the V1000 is raped by the 830.

The V1000 has bad cooling, this is widley known and if you have a hot air cooled system I would think of doing some mods for this case. Although, the V1000+ is great for water cooling.

Personally I would not get either, and go for the Stacker 810. It looks better than the 830, but not than the V1000, but it cools better than the V1000, but not the 830. Its also much cheaper, and a dream for water cooling.

Good luck.

We will keep it in this thread then.

Noise is good, see the other thread.

Im a silver man, WJA96 is black, and Raikiri had better be a silver man :p

Either looks good, cracking case.

The v1000+ has bad cooling, what the!

I have never seen a bad cooling review on it, and have only heard of one person out of about 30 who have had any problems with it. (Could not get the side off! Release catch and not using enough force on the first open)

Where have you got that information from, as it goes against everything that I have known about the v1000+.

Unless you are on about 300 fans makes a case a good cooler, or that a case which is 1 degree hotter is inferior. The v1000+ with stock coolers keeps my case temps at 38 when room is high 20's.

This is not a 20 degree over reporting motherboard recording that, this is a TR3a temperature monitor.

Could you please tell me where you have got that info from, the v1000+ certainly does not have BAD COOLING

Edit out the competitors :)

And they may not have 'actual' stock, just say they have. It happens a lot, you buy it and wait 2 months for it.

To name one forum, [H]ard forum has a lot of users complaning of the same thing.

The main problem is that the heat is trapped in a lot of places due to the intake places.

Dont get me wrong, Ill still buy one :P, but im just saying! Ill make a better explanation tommorow! Im tired.

Thanks.

Yeh it does need a better explanation, as if you follow Lian Li's guide to the letter it works just fine.

And nobody I consider not jumping on a bandwagon says that this case has thoose issues.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the cooling on the V1x00 series. I have the Koolance PC-3 version and believe me - I have a lot of heat to dissipate - and it all runs just fine.

As Yewen says, you need to install your equipment as indicated in the instructions. Even so, I can't see how you could fail to keep everything cool in that partitioned set of enclosures.

Thank you WJA96, I was getting worried there as I recommend the case on personal experience, and the positive feedback of a lot of people who have got back to me after getting one.

Was worried I had been recommending the case with a load of negatives I had never noticed before.

Same with any forum, people dislike cases and bandwagons form. OcUK's jump on the bandwagon is that nobody should buy a cheap case. Mainly because most of them are poor. (By cheap I mean £20 with psu).

The slight distaste towards Thermaltake on this forum (yes I am partly to blame) is semi justified as the cases are inferior to a equally priced lian li say, but they are by no stretch of the imagination bad cases. I also have never been 100% anti-thermaltake, I do recommend them when they are the best solution to a request, although I hate the company personally my experiences do not necisarily mean that all Thermaltakes are bad, they have got better in recent months.

You always have to be careful with people recommending components to you. Just to use a good example, someone who thinks a GF2mx is a fast graphics card will think that the FX5200 is gods gift. But someone who has used a 7800gt will consider the FX5200 to be poor, and rightly so.

It is easy to jump on bandwagons and agree with people; but here on OcUK there are some good posters, to name a few Raikiri, WJA96 and Harib0 who are all very knowledgeable and post some great things, yet they stick to there guns on there opinions on cases, and especially WJA96 going against my PC7+ recommendations when apropriate and on a few ocasions (only a few mind :p) being spot on in doing so.

Those people listed I would trust to choose me a case personally and for what I wanted between them I would get the best case, it is how a forum should be, for discussion. Not a load of people jumping on bandwagons to agree on the same thing; then regurgitating it several times a hour to everybody.

Also before all of this gets linked to [H]ard forum I am not attacking them, I am just commenting on the posting behavior of OcUK and the way that some people in this section (only one I can comment on) sit there are help people with great recomendations with lots of justification. I do not know [H]ard forum and its users very well but it is always something to consider when posting in a forum.

I know it may seem sad, but I do post a lot in here, but only when I see that I can contribute something new. (Or defend Melm0 and her turtles from Raikiri :D)

Bit of a long off topic post here, but it had to be said about the whole bandwagon thing, it will happen on OcUK cases again sometime, but not while the above mentioned posters are active.

And on the V series and PC7+ note, the only reason why I recommend them so much, is they are that good, if people check threads, or add me to msn I can put you onto other users who have got the case out of my, or others, recommendation and are really impressed by them.

Again sorry for the long speech!

Would be nice to see if Noni can provide any links, and see if I could get a person with V1000+ issues sorted.
