hmmmmm very strange lighting problem

this is strange and im at a loss
i have a cold cathode set of 2 tubes powered with a on off switch
i also have a bule led tube powered from seperate connector and box than the cathodes, but when i turn cathodes on the led tube stops, turn cathodes off led tube starts. the only way i can get them all to work is to keep my finger on the button on backplate for the led tube that controls the effects

it all worked about 1 hour ago perfectly

any ideas ?

not sure I understand the description accuratly, but sounds like a bad earth or bad switch.

I take this stuff has worked no problems for a while and nothing has been changed, either in their set up or anything else in the case?

Only way to approach stuff like this is methodically, i.e. change-test-change-re test etc

well i think ive sorted it
i THINK the wire that control the flash rate or effects is dodgy, ive disconnected that and all is fine now, just as well i have a spare
but to be honest i cant be arsed, ive been braiding cables and setting up loghts from 8 this morning
leds work on full effect cycle and cathodes work too so im happy
