HMS Illustrious WW2

This is the latest incarnation of the Illustrious but no doubt there was another one during WW2 :) They definitely didn't have a need for ski jumps for those planes though :E

I've no idea why the current one is still in service other than to give the navy something to do, I assume she will be retired as soon as she is due a refit.

As mentioned, i'd imagine she's a helo platform now as there's no Harriers to launch. The big ships like also are also used as command and control for a group of ships normally so there's plenty of stuff going on in there.

There's probably a lot of extra space on those ships without having to keep Harriers and spares so it can probably carry a lot of stores for whatever task force they're out with.
