Hi there

First of all a Merry Christmas from myself and everyone at OcUK, I hope everyone in graphics plays nice over the festive break as I've got a killer deal for you all from AMD, so whether your gaming or mining this deal is a bloody silly price:-

MSI Radeon R9 280X Gaming Edition OC 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

MSI's 280X Gaming Edition is one of the best 280X cards on the market with a superb performing cooling solution which is also quiet. With core boost clock of 1050MHz this is one very fast 280x out the box and can easily be over clocked higher.

Now: £219.95 Inc. Vat

BUY NOW!

Now considering if you look around at competitors you will see most either have no 280X in stock at all or very small amounts and prices are high due to shortages, the price were doing is possibly the lowest price we have ever done, including before even the shortages started, this price is mental. Remember this is a 7970 GHz performing card. :)

wow what happened to the global shortage ?

MW

OcUK has never being short, always in stock and being doing deals the whole time. Look at our competitors, still out of stock, the shortage is very true. Just here at OcUK I predicted it well and ensured OcUK had lots and lots of stock. :)

Well I'm happy to say that I've just received my 280x!

However upon installing it and firing up valley / skyrim, I am sad to report that it whines like nothing I have ever heard! :(

Unless it fixes itself - known to happen sometimes - I am afraid that I will have to send it back!
The only reason I bought it (apart from the epic price) was that this thing is supposed to be whisper quiet.

Really dissapointed, such an epic card otherwise!

Fan wine or coil wine?

If coil wine, leave it running a benchmark or game for 24hrs, see it if it settles down. Also ensure its being powered by two separate rails as well, sometimes helps if your PSU is struggling a little with it.
