got sick of drinking cider bulmers magners ect.. got some hobgoblin ruby beer tonight not bad not usually into dark beers but it's growing on me :D the label is very lord of the rings :p anyone tried it?

I tried it the other night and quite liked it. I got a box of 4 x Wychwood beers that included Scarecrow, Hob Goblin, Wychcraft & Goliath.

not my kinda thing but my flat mate drinks it, have you seen the king goblin? only brewed on a full moon, 6.6%

I like the Wychwood beers, especially the seasonal ones, like Dirty Tackle & Dog's ********, but we only have one pub in Bath which serves it.:(

Been trying some bottle beers Black Pearl,Pirates Gold & others from the Wooden Hand Brewery, from Truro, had a offer on them in Morrison's a few weeks back.

1st time i have tried the ruby beer will be looking out for others though the full moon one sounds great well strong too :p

Wish my locals had Hobgoblin on tap. Give me something with taste to chose from instead of Fosters, Carling, Carlsberg and Stella...

For some reason this used to send me a bit loopy after a couple of bottles :D Plus I used to find it incredibly hard to say when I had had a few

"I'sd like a hogbob ... a obhog ... a boghob ..." ending up with me pointing at the bottle

I'm a really big ale drinker, Hobgoblin is great, but definitely not the best going.

Try Old Perculier, that's probably my favourite ale around, closely followed by Victory Ale.

Aldi stock a lot of the Wychwood beers plus quite a few other ales.

Now and again they have offers and promotions on and you can get the seasonal varietys , sometimes with brewery pint glasses.

I've never tried this Ale but as it's got good reviews I'll give it a try next time I pick up some ale as I usually drink lighter/pale ales. However the last dark ale I tried was Old Thumper after shooting a documentary at their brewery, it certainly grew on me and I wish that forty-niner was as widely available as Old Thumper is.
