Hockenheim F1 2012

Well, seeing as the Calendar announcement has scuppered our Turkey plans for next year, Hockenheim is in as a possible alternative.

So, who has been to Hockenheim? Where's good to sit (were thinking Grandstands), where did you stay, how did you get there? Any recommendation of things to do or things to avoid?

Pretty much any advice at all from anyone. Were thinking of driving there.

I would urge you to try and walk the old circuit if you can, stopping to pay respects at Jim Clark's memorial, the point at which the world lost arguably its greatest ever racing driver. The old track whilst not a great place to race is quite haunting I think and today most of it has been overgrown and dug up so its a bit of a stroll through the woods.

A walk along the old track is definitely on the cards. Its a bit of a trek though.

Did you end up finding out which were the good grandstands Skeeter? As it's my friends birthday the day of the GP so we are thinking of going to this to do something a bit different.
