Hodge podge build £2k+

So I am after a SFPC with thunderbolt. Main reason is that I can tuck it away from sight have a few cables (monitor and usbc for a TB dock) and have the PC out of sight and sound. Mostly for gaming, and general use, some video/photo editing.

I have kinda decided on the parts:
- Intel 13600k
- Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 6400MHz C32
- Asus ROG Strix Z690
- Meshlicious
- SF750 PSU
- RTX 3080 ti

I understand that the board is a little overkill for the CPU, but there is at least the option to buy a 13900k in the future and it be a nice upgrade, since there is no other CPUs for this platform. Any thoughts welcome

If you go for a z690 motherboard it will need a bios update to take a 13th gen CPU so make sure it has bios flash button so you can update it without another CPU. Otherwise go for a z790 which will work out the box , if not overclocking a b660 or b760 is a cheaper option

Yea will be overclocking cos why not and yea know about the bios, the strix has a button to flashback

Then it looks like your sorted as long as you've got storage and cooling , could just go for a 13700/k and be done.

Cheers! Thought I'd get a little sanity check on the parts.

The 13700k is an extra £100, 13600k sounds like a good all rounder. With the board being able to handle 13900k as future option.

I did similar with i5 2500k, 5 years later sold for £100 and got 3770k for same I think.

Now feeling the age of the 3770k, a 10 generation leap should be nice.

But damn you're running a machine as old as mine! When are you upgrading?

My pc does everything I need as I don't game anymore , my son just plays non demanding games so it's still ok.

Know my speakers Logitech Z5500 are crazy powerful it's like being at the cinema which I really enjoy and music is superb.

What audio are you going for or have ?

Currently rocking a small LG bluetooth speaker lol - although I have the Z906 hooked up to the TV.

In terms of GPU, hows £600 for a used 3080 ti? I figure its few hundred cheaper than 4070ti and same VRAM and few less features.

The results above super happy with it! i5 is a beast set voltage manually to 1.32v so max temps are 97C lol, in Cinebench. Otherwise super tiny super quiet mostly.
