Seems fitting to have a little natter in here

Just ordered a Ultima Tyrannosaur`ass Intel Core i7 2600k based system

Tad overspent hehe. Downgraded to the Nvidia 570gtx from the 580 since their so similar.

Thought I'd go with the windows 7 option since It saves time on migration and hassle.

Little concerned with the hard drive solution, I stayed with the package option. Overthinking it though not sure 60gb ssd with 1tb of storage will cut my needs. 60 is basically a full windows installion (inc temporary, document accumulation and recovery files)
I would be more happy with another 60gb or 120gb ssd and another 1tb hdd in raid 0.

However that would be approaching the £2k mark ive blitzed excluding any other peripheral.

Also a tad impatient since I ordered on wednesday asked for the gfx downgrade and led change from white to any other colour lol pref green/blue. - And it still hasnt been dispatched.. gah!

About it really.

Yeah so I wasnt too sure about the hd solution. I've gone ahead with another ocz vertex 2e and another seagate barrucuda 1tb

so in total

2x ocz vertex 2e > 120gb total
2x seagate barracuda >2tb total

Im a-bit of a newbie when it comes to raid hard drive modes etc.

Ive asked oc'ers to just ship the extra hd's with the pc to save time on shipment.

What I would like is to get the best performance from the hd's Not too sure on its solution.

ie seagates in raid 0 slaves ocz one master, one slave? not too sure about the options to get the best performance some advice would be nice

Regards

Excellent opening post & a Superb system to look forward to. Welcome to OcUk.

 realtek high defination audio driver 5, 8ch hd

is this the industries unspoken shame or something?
I cant find much about it other then its still to be avoided. Really annoying - Remembering the days of stuttering audio and poor quality from a previous on board years ago.
I cant find much information on this current generation iteration other then its still crap.

What I expect is good quality sound and no audio distortion or stuttering. on my brand new mobo jeeez wizz.

Been using audigy for years still have the audigy 4 and my Onkyo 805.

Prolly gonna go for a cheapy asus zonar, its got good reviews or maybe a new audigy x-fi.

p.s. if im overduing my new member thingy just say and i'll go take a walk.

soooo after like 2 days of having it.. boy does it pump out cold air, and boyyyy is it loud and thats on silent setting too

dont think those system fans got controls on them. + on the plus side ive put a little certain on the front of it to stop my legs going numb.. its still got enough circulations mind you

p.s. i dont think i even need the chassis fans on its a refrigerator plus sandybridge just dont need them, the only thing that comes close to benefiting from the chassis fans are the hdd, ram and graphics card..

think im gonna have to ring them up about the fans, i requested different fans then the white led fans, they dont even seem to have fan control, and i cant tell which one is making the most noise

if its the 3 fronts or the 1 top..

had a quick look inside and the bottom chassis fan connector isnt used.. the top chassis connector seems to be daisy chained to the cpu line..

bloody confused!!
