greetings from the sunny south coast of Spain!
So, how the heck did I end up here?
I first came across Overclockers when I used to live in the UK for a while and have been lurking on the forums ever since.
Always got good advice by reading all the threads.
You also seem to have a low percentage of trolls.
Now I just felt like taking part in discussions and to contribute a bit of my knowledge - as applicable!
I have to admit that my last build, which just died on me recently in the heat of the summer, was an old Athlon 64 4000+. That's what happens if you always wait for the newer architecture/generation/GPU/etc. But I'm always on top of the market, so usually know what's going on and which are THE parts to have!
My new build is almost through the planning stage and the parts will be ordered at the end of the month.
It's going to be a gaming rig, so likely a 3570k on a Z77X-UD5H (I just don't have the patience to wait for the Maximus Formula), 8GB of 1600Mhz RAM, a 128GB SSD and a OC'd GTX 670 to max out BF3.
I just haven't decided on a CPU cooler yet... and it would be a sin not to OC it! Though I'm slightly concerned about temps.
But OC'd or not, coming from the Athlon, it must feel like a revelation!
