I have two holes around 1cm in diameter that need fixing. How much do I need to spend on materials to get this done, and how much would it cost for someone to come and do it? The plasterboard is part of a fake wall, so nothing solid behind it.

My DIY skills would be rated 2/10. :D

I don't particular think you need to be a skilled and seasoned DIY'er to fill two 1cm holes in plasterboard.

Can you not just get some polyfilla? Surely its a 2 minute job?

The polyfilla should work however if you're really worried about it not working and want to over engineer a fix then you could erect some scaffolding, sheet up the whole room, squirt some expanding foam into the hole then polyfilla it..........

buy polyfill.
put polyfill in hole
wait for poly fill to dry
put a bit more polyfill on.
wait for a bit more to dry
sand flat
paint

total time taken 8 minutes
total waiting time for filler to dry 4 hours
