Hey guys, a little over a week and I head off to Fiji for a few weeks.

I'm after a simple digital camera for obvious holiday snaps, recording a few videos and taking pics/video while i'm snorkelling.

I went 4 years ago and was so annoyed I didn't have a decent underwater camera.

I've been reading up for months now on review sites and the top 3 contenders seem to be as follows, they're all similar specs with about the same price point of £270'ish:

Panasonic Lumix DMX-FT5
Nikon Coolpix AW120
Olympus TG-2

I'm leaning towards the AW120, any direct comparison always puts it above the other two for assorted reasons.

Does anyone have experience of these cameras or anything similar? Can go up to £300.

For snorkelling have you considered the GoPro? Even the 2 will do (second hand even). Only reason is you don't really want to be holding a camera when swimming, and a chest mount would be pretty useful.

I did want to go down the go pro route, however after the holiday the missus wants the camera for everyday use for stills shots, bbq's, nights out and so on.

Our current Sony cybershot is dying after about 6 years use so we need a replacement, that's the only reason she's letting me get this one tbh.

I'd opt for the olympus as it is the better all round camera in my opinion. I've never been bothered snorkelling with a compact in hand just make sure you have a good secure wrist strap I pinched one off a wii mote as the clips are great.
