Looking for a good point a shoot camera to take on holiday.

The camera im currently looking at is the Canon S110. Is this a good buy and what are its competitors, any suggestions?

Price range £200 - £300
As little shutter lag as possible
Excellent quality images
Shooting in low light (without flash)

Thankyou

Panasonic LX7 or Samsung EX2F is what I'd be looking at, simply for their f1.4 lenses which give better performance in low light.

I went for the EX2F because of its multi angle screen but the LX7 has a little longer zoom and is a little brighter at the tele end and have been really impressed so far.

One point to note though is while they are still both jacket pocketable I wouldn't say either the Pana or Samsung are jeans pocketable which the S110 maybe.

If you want a genuine compact which fits in your pocket and goes anywhere you have a simple choice really, the canon S110 (although I'd try and find an S100 if it's still cheaper as the S110 adds nothing) or the Sony RX100 if you can afford the sony get it if not then the Canon is for you. We have an S100 and the results are fantastic the lens is a bit slow at the long end but the larger than average sensor and the bright f2.0 at the wide end makes for a great evening shooter.

If it doesn't need to fit in your pocket then you have loads of options but or me if it won't fit in a pocket then it might as well be an SLR.
