Ok so going on sunday i need to get all my currency today.

is it best to get all in cash?? or some in cash but the most in travelers checks??

going to the dominican Rebublic. they use US Dollars.

I wouldn't go for all cash, purely in case it gets lost or stolen etc. Probably be better to take some cash and then some traveller's cheques I would have thought.

I would get the majority in traveller's cheques and the rest in cash. Traveller's cheques can be replaced if lost or stolen, cash cannot.

I agree, take enough emergency money for getting from airport to hotel.

Dominican will take US$ but for generall day to day use they prefer Pesos and will give you your change in Pesos if you pay in US$


If you are only taking 200 quid ( I assume you are all inclusive ) then I would just take US$ cash
