Holidays at work - How many?

25 + 9 bank holidays, although for all but 3 of the bank holidays the office is open so you can choose to take those days at a different time if you wish.

28 days here + BH

It's also mandatory that out of that, as I work for a bank, I have to take 2 weeks consecutive leave to meet FSA requirements. Noty that that's a problem.

Why is that then? I'm moving to an organisation regulated by the FSA and I want to know if this will apply to me. Not that it'll particularly be an issue for me either...

27 + bank holidays (although that will rise to 28 next January due to length of employment).

I can also carry over up to 3 days from the previous leave year, although I have to make use of them within the first three months, and I can purchase up to an extra 10 days per year through our flexible benefits.

It's just to ensure that should the individual be partaking in anything unto wards that apparently, their dealings should come to light whilst that person is away. It applies to all staff, whether connected to dealing or not.

boooo, evil banker!! ;)

Right,

How many holidays do you get to take at work? And if you get over the normal amount, do you feel bad taking multiple extended periods off even when things are still busy where you work?

Cheers.

If it's a pre-booked holiday then no I wouldn't feel bad if work suddenly got busy when I was due to leave. It really depends on the situation in my view, if there was a busy month which I knew about then I'd probably try and not a book holiday then unless it seriously inconvenienced me or I was going to a specific event. If however work was busy for months on end I wouldn't feel bad taking holiday, you can't just wait until it's dead quiet to take holiday every time.

23.5 + BH.

Take it when I want although in our department we try to be sympathetic to workoad and the schedule of those around us. Unfortnately our company is shutting down for two weeks over the Olympics and we have to take our holiday then.

Eh? Are you asking how many days people are contractually allowed to take, or how many block holidays have people taken? What do you mean by 'getting over the normal amount'?

Sorry bit more info, I know lots on here do ad-hoc work or on call stuff which normally means you get days in lieu which would equate to over the normal amount.

At the start of this year I had 50+ holidays to take, I cashed some in and still had 40 odd days left to take off which more days in lieu coming (various things)

Now my problem is on the few days I've taken off this year I have had to do work inbetween holidays, answer emails/check and issue reports/generally pick up work as the other person who does the same job in the office (only two of us) is at full capacity and then has to pick up my work load, thats where the guilty feeling comes into it (and vice versa but as he is contract and I am staff I can take a lot more holidays than he can).

I get 16 days (12 hour shifts) and 4 days for bank holidays where I'm rostered off. I then get paid for the 4 bank holidays that I work.

Once I've taken my holiday I work a whopping 162 days a year.
