Home building and Renovating show 2017

Just thought i'd start a thread letting people know this is happening from today until sunday in the NEC in Birmingham... it just occurred to me as my company is exhibiting hehe!

Me and the GF are going for a mosey on Saturday as it's free and probably a great place for inspiration (never been before).

I think you can get a train straight to the Birmingham International station which means you don't have to park and suffer the inevitable traffic!

Do you find that you pick up any business from this type of show?
We did a couple of them and found that you literally waste hours and hours following leads but ultimately not making any money!

I don't personally exhibit but leave that to sales manager and big boss manager. We get a lot of inquiries through along the lines of "we've seen you at the recent xxxx trade show and am interested in a quote for the following project we are undertaking"..

Our the main selling point our our product (bi-folding and sliding doors with integrated insect/light filtering screens) is that it is so easy to use and so it pays I guess to get people to interact with the product as this then can sway there decision over a cheaper cost competitor.

I'm not going personally, but I know my mother-in-law is as they're currently building a new house.

I think the benefit for them is that it lets them see a large range of different options which they may not have otherwise thought about.

I love this sort of show. We went to grand designs live a few years ago at the NEC and were really inspired. I didn't realise there was a home building and renovation show. I won't be able to make this show unfortunately despite heading to the airport this weekend.
