I'm trying to persuade a friend to buy a PC from OcUK instead of a cheaper but much slower machine elsewhere. Home/business use, not for games. Limited budget but needs to be fairly future-proof.
Solar FLARE 2500i and Primo 6200i look good choices. Both use the i5-3450 which is low-end Ivy Bridge but still beats most AMD or earlier Inter chips.
Questions:
The Solar with 8G RAM and a lower price looks the better choice, unless I'm missing something important?
Do these have any USB 3.0 sockets?
Is the built-in 2500 graphics processor adequate for non-gaming use, including Photoshop, BBC iPlayer and films on DVD?
How much extra would it cost to have a 1TB disk instead of 500GB?
Is Windows 7/64 supplied on a DVD? If not, how do you re-install it? (I'll have a spare SSD they could add as boot drive, which may entail reinstalling Windows.)
Thanks for any advice you can give.
