Thanks but the amp has arrived now.
Though not sure if it's a problem with my TV, the amp doesn't turn on with it but it will turn off.
Any ideas anyone? I've checked cec settings on both devices. Also game mode doesn't automatically turn on when using the Xbox, is this normal?

I would try in the AV Forums owners threads. Couldn't see an X1800 one, but here's the X2800 one which is pretty much identical.

Personally I'd avoid CEC like the plague, auto on /off, auto input switching nonsense etc. Many times I would switch something off, or on, but not wanting other things powered up with it.
Much prefer macros on a universal remote, and if I'm doing manual stuff I'll enter the devices pages directly which won't switch on other devices without my direct intervention.

I do manual mode too. I don't always use my receiver when the TV is on, only for movies or special TV shows, it's just 1 button press to turn it on.
