home cinema setup at 4k for gaming

Is it possible to get 60hzs on a 4k amp with hdmi 2.0. Rather than using a displayport 1.4 that my amp does not support.

i was thinking i would need to use a DisplayPort 1.2 with a hdmi connection on the end to get 60hzs or would it defult to 30hzs if i used a dp to hdmi cable. sorry if that sounds wrong but im not really that technical.
