Hi guys

I have a cellar that is about 2.7m wide. I was thinking of a drop down 110 inch acoustically transparent projector screen with the centre channel in the void and left and right behind the screen.

Any advise on this or other recommendation as im really open to any ideas.

Thanks!

That recess on the left looks perfect for a hidden equipment cabinet as well.
The acoustically transparent screens work surprisingly well.

Doesn't look a big room so probably 5.1 will be ok

You'll need to experiment how a center in that alcove will sound

Good idea to put some thick acoustic padding over that glass door windows

Thanks - yeah was thinking of putting my rack there!

Its quite a long room, around 7m, but it kinda narrows off, the sofa will be around 3.5m away from the screen.

Yeah its upvc doors upto the garden, will definitely treat it! Was thinking of putting the centre channel on a stand and have it right upto the front of the alcove so it doesnt reverberate too much

Definitely going 5.1 max! I have a arendal 1723 1v which is a massive subwoofer, was thinking of putting it in the box alcove at one point but itd probably blow the house up :p

7m should fit 7.1 ok and will help with wrap around surround sound. 7.1.2 could work or if you prefer dual subs 7.2.2 or or 4x atmos 7.2.4. My brother has 7.1.4 I have 9.3.4

If you have Arendel all round yeah pretty costly kinda overpriced now, cheap on the finish but charge ££££ and I've seen the complaints on the forums with uneven paint, and finger oil penetrating the pain staining them

Oh my sub is bigger by 8" in one direction haha

Probably wont do 7.1 as the room becomes very narrow c2m for half of it

Im really not sure what to do speaker wise, I have focal vestia no3 at the moment with the matching centre and rears, and the arendal sub, which I could use but if I have the rack in the left alcove then it doesnt give a lot of room for the speakers (although I dont have an alcove on the right). I want to put the projector screen as far back as possible near the three spot lights, should I just go inwalls or buy slimmer speakers?

Opp end

Another angle
