My living room used to be aimed at my pc. Had a tv card in it and 5.1 so it worked pretty well. Thing is it got a bit annoying when my mrs wants to use the pc and I want to watch tv etc. So I've rearranged the living room to point towards a sharp aquos 20" lcd . Might sound a bit small but taking the size of my living room into account it works perfectly.
Anyway I'm all setup and it works fine, but I'm not able to watch any of my avi, ogm,mkv media any more.
Now would the solution be to buy one of those dvd media players that plays everything (probably one with an HDD recorder just for the sake of it) at around the £140 mark and if so which one? The other option is to build an HTPC. I already have a winnie 3200 and HDD's spair, but the costs I'll be looking at after that make me think twice.
I'd also be looking at buying a £30-£50 2.1 Creative or Logitech set for my PC when I move my 5.1 set over. Any tips on a good set? My mum uses some logitech ones that sound pretty good.
Anyway finances are a biggy in all this and would really like to keep things sub £200. The cheaper the better really.
Any one got any thoughts?
