Hi guys I’m wondering if someone can help. Me & my partner are building a bar in the back garden & need some help.

we’ve got a fridge that will fit 2 Cornelius kegs in along with 2 gas canisters 1 being Co2 & the other 70/30.

I need help with where to buy the Cornelius kegs from? - full. So like fosters corny keg or Guinness corny keg. We’re in the Manchester area so any help would be very appreciated. All I can seem to find is empty kegs. Does anyone know of a brewery that we could set up an account with or buy them online etc?

thank you :)

Pretty sure I’ve seen kegs (75 pint) in Bookers. Other whole salers may do them or You could try local breweries. I looked at it for lockdown for myself but the local ones said they needed it back empty in 5 days and frankly 15 pints a day is a stretch so I didn’t do it.

Wouldn't a keg have a fairly shelf life after its been opened? Google suggests 90 days.

75 pints in 90 days also seems excessive.

That said, I don't really 'get' home 'bars'.

Never heard of commercial brewers using Cornelius kegs. They’re from the soft drinks industry originally but repurposed by home brewers. If you bought you’re own you might find microbreweries willing to fill them with green beer

Yeah, but you’re not going to die if you drink some a little out of date. Also you wouldn’t be drinking it by yourself, ie parties, BBQs etc. With a poker table & a dart board you’d have loads of fun :)

Yeah we’re thinking of the sixth barrel instead, as like you said we’d have to buy are own & get brewery’s you fill them, but probably not with the mainstream beer.
