So when I was first connected to Infinity 2 all those months, actually, years ago, I received a HH (3 if I remember) in the post and the nice installer bought a modem with him.
This was installed, all went well. I then replaced the HH with an Asus router.

I now see that the HH5 comes with the modem built-in - so a single unit where currently there are two. Always a good thing as far as I'm concerned.

I also see that HH5's are coming up for sale quite regularly. So, if I was to purchase a HH5 is it a simple matter of swapping it into my setup?
From what I remember my original HH was shipped to me with all my details installed - so I guess I'd need to do that stage?

So HH5 in - talk to it via the PC, configure it for me and away we go?

Cheers for that.
So I could get a HH5 for £52 delivered directly from BT. Not a bad price.
I'll go take a look at that ASUS unit.

I upgraded mine last week directly from BT for £45. I came from the HH3 and white openreach Modem. It's a piece of cake to set up, PC recognised it straight away, Mac/iphone/Win7 Phone just needed to enter the new password.

Much neater not having two boxes and the wireless seems better.

Got my HH5 today from BT , you may be able to get it cheaper than £45 + p and p if you haggle.

Ive read that some people who have upgraded have had their infinity switched to infinity 1 which is weird , ie 40 down 10 up.

I just got my home hub 5 in the post today - and yes it is just a straight swap, take away hub3 and the open reach modem and replace with the hub 5, everything worked without a hitch :-)

Well not weird if like me they're not getting more than 40 down 10 up, I was estimated low 50 but have never got higher than low/mid 40 and get low/mid 30 and up never hits above 10. I prob should have downgraded(and save a couple quid a month) back in august when I started a new 12month contract as signed up for the free bt sport hd.
