Yep, we all know the Home Hub is pretty useless.

Basically, can anyone recommend a good ADSL Modem Router? I need the following:

- I use Broadband Talk, so the router needs VoIP
- Good range is always a benefit. A router that supports a 3rd party firmware (like DD-WRT) which allows an increase in signal strength would be good.
- Must be wireless and have at least two ethernet ports.
- It does not need to be draft-n standard, 802.11g is good enough.

TIA, Jon

Well hopefully around £50.

I had a thought:

Maybe get a Linksys Wireless ADSL Modem Router (or similar) that supports the 3rd party firmware. Then disable DHCP & Wireless on the Home Hub. Then connect the Home Hub to the Linksys via ethernet.

This way the Linksys would be used for DHCP, Wireless AP etc, and the Home Hub is just used for the VoIP part (which, unlike all its other featues, does work fine).

Is that plausible?

Jon

AFAIK the Linksys ADSL routers won't do third party firmware.
My first thought was an ethernet ADSL modem, WRT54GL, and some ATA for the VoIP, but there's no way you'd do that for £50 - you'd be the better part of £40 just for the WRT.
