Home insurance accidental damage for kit?

Has anyone ever claimed or tried to claim replacement kit after an accident through home insurance?

My home insurance has 'out of the home accidental damage', so to me that means if I'm in an accident, I can claim my kit through my house insurance instead of paying extra on my bike insurance? Just like I'd claim, for example, my phone if that was smashed in the accident.

I'm going to call and ask tomorrow, but wondered if anyone has tried before.

I think that might be stretching it a bit.....saying you fell against the wall of the house while wearing it on the other hand....

Yes you should be able to. They'll hike your premium come renewal by a hundreds of pounds though. Your kit needs to be worth enough to make the claim. Insurance is a bit of a scam, they tell you what your quote is but they'll never tell you what your next quote would be should you make a claim.
