Hi all, I could do with a little help configuring my home network.

My current set up is as follows

BT Home Hub

----->Power Line Adapter --->Linksys E4200---->Home Server (Media content)
---->Home WiFi
---->LAN Connection - PC1
----->Power Line Adapter--->PC2

----->Power Line Adapter--->PC3

Power Line Adapter model: (TP Link TL-PA211)

Basically the Wifi is rubbish when downstairs. I use a Linksys E4200 at the top of the house which provides great WiFi. To get the internet upstairs I have to connect the Powerline adapter to the BT Home Hub and then to my Linksys E4200 which works.

My Home Server is connected to Linksys E4200 via Lan, access media content is perfect over WiFi.

I want to use the Power Line Adapters for PC2 and PC3 which works great for the internet but I am unable to gain access to my media content.

PC 2 ipconfig ----no access to server
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : home
IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.73
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.254

PC1 ---working perfectly

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : home
IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.12
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.1

I assume the problem is caused by the different Default Gateway, clearly something is wrong here. The Powerline adapters are connecting to the BT Home Hub's IP address and not the Linksys E4200.

Are you connecting to the E4200's WAN port?

If you are then don't. Instead configure it as an access point, and connect it back to the Home Hub using one of its LAN ports. Everything will then be a single network, and all of the devices will be able to see each other.
