Hi guys,

I have recently moved house and would like to network some rooms (5 in total). I have never done anything like this before so wanted to pick your collective brains. My telephone socket is in a cupboard under the stairs, and this is where I would like to home all my gear for this project.

Eventually I would like a media server to stream music and films across to network to various devices.

The current equipment I have is the following

Netgear R6250 AC1600 Wireless router
100 meters Cat5e cable which should be enough.
Netgear Prosafe 24port Gigaswitch (model JGS524)
Cisco SG100-16 16port Gigaswitch
Both the switches above have been donated to me so if they are not suitable for this then I am willing to buy the correct ones.
I also have a cabinate/rack to fit these in.

Obviously I will need wall outlets for each room as well. Is there anything I am missing for the project and do you think as a network noob it is managable?

My understanding of this is:

Telephone Socket > Router > Switch > to 5 rooms on individual switches????

Any advise or pointers are welcome.
