Im in the process of doing a major renovation/new build and ideally would like to be able to have net access points and phone points all round the house.

The incoming BT point is going to be in a utility room where im mounting the home av system, so im looking for any pointers on how to use a router/hub and cat cable to allow me to get this to the rooms. Ive got a real mental block on it at the moment, ideally want to be able to connect wired pc's and phones into points and them connect straight to the net.

As an aside im looking at crestron or opus for distributing the av and then installing a cctv system and gate access, these need at least one net access point.

Any help or tips greatly appreciated.

Router/modem into Switch.
Then cat cables running to wallsockets in the rooms you want access in.
The cat ends in faceplates on the wall in the rooms and the cat ends in male ending in the utility room, which you plug directly into the switch.
You'll a switch with as many ports as cables you have running to the rooms.
Plug all in.
Then when you connect a PC to the wall using male to male cable, you will connect into the switch, which connects to the router/modem, so internet access and home networking sorted.

CCTV I've no idea about.

If you have a genuine need for CCTV and gate access, you should probably just speak to a reseller from Opus or Creston.

A more budget solution would be to use networkable IP CCTV cameras which feed images back to a program on a server. I'm not a great fan of this CCTV fetish though.
