I wonder if anyone can help me
I have a wireless router / modem downstairs which is the net connection. Two PCs upstairs connect to this wirelessly. I want to link the two PCs upstairs to each other via ethernet, but still connect to the net from downstairs.
Both have wifi
One is a fileserver one my main pc.
I have a switch available for use upstairs which is my next plan, but how do i force it to share between the two pcs via ethernet rather than wifi ?
To further compound, i want the share to be available to other pcs wirelessly.
I tried a bridged connection via crossover cable, but it went to pot when i turned the main pc off (fileserver was left on and had the wifi connection) .
Hopefully it all makes sense
