Ok Have the Virgin super hub2 (installed today)
I want to put my TPlink N900 downstairs so I can plug in my Sky box and Playstation and also extend my wireless range.
Whats the best way to go about this?
Do I have to alter the settings in the TPlink router?
Im dumb at this so layman terms please

Cable from the Superhub to the N900.

The N900 will probably have a "wireless access point" setting. You will also need to disable DHCP on the N900 and change the IP address to something other than the Superhubs. Default gateway will also need to be set to the Superhubs IP address.

Ok will run a cable in.
Is it possible to use the power line devices?
Or will I lose bandwidth?

Powerline will work fine. Bandwidth will depend on your internal house wiring. It will not be as fast as CAT5e or CAT6 cable, but of course the convenience is there with it.
