Home Network - no password on user account

Hello.

I have a laptop on Windows 7 which is part of a home network. I have set the workgroup and home group correctly and other machines see this device.

When I try to connect to this machine it asks for a username and password even tho this account does not have one. I have tried typing computer-name\username as well as using the username on the PC I am using but neither work.

This is the default HP account I believe and I have tried leaving the password field blank. 4 other devices are connected the same way and work fine.

Any suggestions would be much welcomed

Do you want to have to enter a password when accessing the win7 machine? If not you can disable password protected sharing in the options bit of the network control panel applet
