Hello all, i currentlly have a cupboard that is very messy and un-organised with a network swith and nas hard drives and my router, does anyone kno if anybody has every tiried to build a home server hardware into a normal ATX case, and if so any links to a build log? i cant go for the connventional server rack/cabinet as i dont have enough room, its nly just wide enough to fit in a axt case

Easily, you can use Windows Home Server in an ATX case using standard hardware. You do not need server grade hardware, anything will do!

I use an i3 low power cpu, with 6 hard drives (WD green drives) and although mine is housed in a rack mount case, it is just a microATX board and a standard PSU.

its not server grade hardware, i have a HP V1410-16G Gigabit Switch, my real question was if anyone had ever managed to Incorporated a network switch or router of anykind into a pc case

So let me get this right you want to get all your existing hardware and put it into a atx case

i already have all the hard ware and evrything is set up, i simply want to know if anyone has come acrross a thread anywhere on the internet where someone has intergrated a network switch into their computer case.

what do you mean? lol

are you talking about network PCI card or the actual network switch box?

network switch box live outside the computer case. not inside

You can get PCI and PCIE network switches, if the OP googles that they should get some results. Not saying theyre any good though.
