Hey ocuk

My internet comes as a wifi connection from a company that does wifi for the building I live in.

I've recently been gifted some old pcs and am thinking I want to make my own network rather than connecting straight to their wifi, what I am aiming to do is as follows.

Wifi signal -> My server which is connected to a router which would then serve the internet connection to all my other devices : ipad / pc / phone / raspberry pi

Now questions, I'm thinking about running linux on my server and just having it put away and only VNC'ing to it, could anyone recommend a linux distro to use or even advise me if you think i should just run windows on it.

With which ever OS I go for is it easy enough to share an internet connection through a router to other devices?

Thanks

Well got a few ideas really, could act as a media server or like a wireless music player that I can queue music up with.

Also the way my wifi works here you have to log on normally when you turn your computer on, the server could keep my connection going so I could VNC to the server when im away from my room Wake on LAN my gaming pc and connect to it where I wouldnt be able to otherwise.
