I think I'm going to go back to Vista for gaming. I have all but completely made the switch to Linux but obviously Windows is more suited to gaming. I had a Vista Premium disc but can't find it so going to have to buy it again. :o

Are there any advantages premium has over home for gaming?

Home Premium is the one to have no matter what.
If you have only misplaced the disk but have the Key to hand then borrow a disk
as you still have a licence.
I have had to copy my Retail Disk as its starting to get cracks coming from the center & i have Ultimate no way im a buying another disk.

home premium has no gaming advantages over home home basic

if anything i'd say home basic would be very slightly better performaning, because home premium has the media centre things running

basically home premium has aero & media centre, home basic does not.

Agree but the amount of people who say they don't need something right here right now end up regretting it later.
