Can't change Home page on wifes pc,Seems she picked up a virus or malware that won't let her change her home page back to the one she uses,have done the sysyem restore,virus scan and malware scan,everytime she tries to change it a window pops up saying" IE shield has blocked",have tried turning off shield but doesn't help,On internet options we have entered the proper web site addy and it stays their but a diff home page comes up Any suggestions would be great BESIDES ***KILL PC***
 
Is the page it redirects you to a site selling security software by any chance. If not what site is it?
 
Yes its something to do with buying a anti malware program Don't know ifthis helps but this is file that came up when I ran virus check, anti virus couldn't fix it and now I can't find it

Erm, not sure. Right, let's get a few things straight:

1.) What anti-virus do you run?

2.) Any anti-spyware programs?

3.) Post the contents of you HOSTS file by opening it in notepad

4.) Run the program in the link Richdog posted and post the log results on here

i am also having a similar problem only it is msn.com that is hijacking my I.E. homepage,fresh install of windows as well.i have tried everything i could find and it is still there :mad:
could some kind person direct me to the registry entry i need to delete to fix this
p.s. i have uninstalled I.E. and it is still there

If your still having the problem, then please paste a HiJackThis log here and i will take a look for you.

It is important that you dont fix anything with HJT unless advised what to do by myself or someone else with HJT experience.
