Home Parking Dream!

Sheesh, some of you guys need to get some extra joy in your life :)

It's a funky innovation that I think is cool for the big kid inside (most) of us.

;) Smile.. life is too short to be grumpy!

I'm a Risk Consultant for the on and offshore oil and gas industry, I’m always going to analyse the problems and risks associated with anything, boring I know! :p

I'd assume the same number of floor plates exist in the system as garage spaces, in addition no floor plate is permanently assigned to one parking space, so what you've got is a huge floating storage of occupied and free floor plates, the free ones could end up in any parking space.

Now looking at the video you only have storage space for one free floor plate (on the ground floor garage bit you first drive your car onto), so I’d assumed that above ground level parking spaces exist with floor plates in them, but without cars on them.

That's unless once removed your car from your parking space a holding pen exists on the ground floor which allows the storage of multiple plates.

I notice the driver scanned in through a barrier before getting to the lift, its possible that as they did the lift went to fetch their floor plate - it could , I assume, move much more rapidly when not loaded. Hence being ready when the gate opened.

Would be a bit of a nightmare getting your car out in the morning though, not convinced the system could take more than one car at a time per cycle so you'd end up in a huge queue :(

I'm guessing the kind of people who can afford to have their supercars delivered by lift to the living room of their penthouse apartment don't worry too much about the work commute :p

Just watched this with a guy at work and he raised an interesting point - doesn't look like you can get to the car once it's upstairs - bit annoying if you accidentally leave some shopping in the boot and have to go all the way back downstairs and wait for the car to follow you just to retrieve it :D

Just watched the video (was at work earlier so couldn't). Would be better if you could stay in the car. Seems a bit odd that you have to get out, press buttons then make your own way up to the apartment.

This must be making the internet rounds today because I also saw this photo.

I wonder if you can hear the lift working from your room? Would be annoying hearing it every time it was used.

From the looks of it you'd see other cars go by the window.

As you see the car go up the lift they're all covered by doors so you can't see it in your flat.

I'm presuming the glass is also stupidly thick so you won't hear a thing!

Or you get home from your long weekend at a nice spa resort / golf club and have to unload your Luis Vuitton bags etc in the lobby, then cart them up to your flat in the lift - classy! :)
