I am buying a new house and it comes with ethernet cabling, however, while the wall points are finished, they all terminate inside a box room, and there all I get is the cables hanging out of an opening on the wall.
I have done my share of ethernet cabling professionally over the past decade and have access to the tools, so the obvious choice based on what I have worked with is a patch panel, a small rack and a switch in that rack. But from the racks I have seen out there, they are generally of a set width, probably wider than I want.
Are there any other 'home friendly' smaller racks, and patch panels narrow enough to fit in them? Maybe something I can easily mount on the wall, in front of the opening the cables are coming out of?
Thanks in advance.
