Why not look to the used market? You can get a refurb Dell Core 2 Duo machine for like 80 pounds online. Otherwise if you want to build yourself it'll be a celeron or A4 setup with maybe 4GB of RAM and a 1TB hard drive. It can be done.

The whole point though is that you are spec'ing for literally bottom end stuff. You need pretty much the power of a pistachio dipped in copper for this stuff so even if you do end up with a celeron and crap RAM and no SSD it really doesn't matter.

For OS, if you aren't buying a complete machine. Removed,

Personally I wouldn't get a refurbished PC as if you buy an old Core2 Duo, you're buying hardware that has been EOL for a long time. I'd build my own but that's just me. If it's literally for very basic web browsing and TV catchup, then what you've selected there will work. For another £15 though, you could get the A6-6400 APU, which has slightly better onboard graphics.

As Danny says, faster/more RAM will help.

The Rajintek Aidos will be more than sufficient and also quieter than the stock AMD cooler.

If you've got your own copy of Window 7 then use that and upgrade to 10.

Be aware that a 500W CiT PSU cannot supply 500W. If it's the one I'm thinking of, it can only support 325W on the 12V rail. Given you need less than half of that, you'll be fine.

Thinking this surly has to better than current tower I'm using on TV at min compaq pressario 2.50 GHz processor 2gb ddr2 800 mhx max it will allow on board , 1gb Asus gefore 210 and the things is noisy as hell hence chosing that processor cooler sure I should notice a difference with this upgrade
