Is it possible setting up a WLAN just using a wireless router? By possible I mean easy and not very expensive. I understand speed may be reduced vastly as it has no Gigabit Ethernet support therefore sharing large multimedia files will be a pain none?

I'm just getting to grips with what i can and cannot do before I wire the house during redecoration.

If WLAN is not an option is it recommeded to hide the patch panel in the boiler cabinet? I say this because thier's a descreet box that has various wires in it that runs to the boiler cabinet from each room. I can successfully hide the Cat5e cables from each network jack plate in the skirts to this box with various other wires.

Thanks :)

Well wiring the whole house will be long term sorta thing.
I've got two computers I want to network and will have a NAS.
Furthermore it will be a long term minor income investment as we'll be renting this place out soon so the sounds of "Home Networking Ready House Enabled" sorta thing makes people smile :)

Thanks for the replies guys. I should off mentioned this earlier, very sorry. The family may get a Laptop soon, and we've got a PSP we want to connect wirelessly :p
Shouldn't be a problem should it?
