I'm finally starting to rip my DVD collection and my Dads vast CD collection. I've calculated that the CD collection alone might come to about 2TB and well DVDs will be much more. What i need is a server that will allow me stream content over a network to smaller PC's connected to TV's in the Kitchen, Living Room and bedrooms. I'm probably going to go with 1TB as there a bit cheaper than the 2TB and will be easier to replace lost data. With that in mind I'm going to need quite a few of them and I'm stuck on choice of motherboards since I will need quite a lot of SATA connection ill probably need to get an extender of some sort. also need help on other hardware aspects the only thing it will be doing is dishing out files and ripping all encoding will be done on my main machine. if its any help I have a Q6600 lying around with 2GB 800mhz ballitix tracer ram.
